We're sure you're ready for a night out and there's much to look forward to in 2021 and beyond. The inaugural Fishfest rock 'n roll all dayer, 80s legends The Christians and Toyah Wilcox, Dr Feelgood, Caribbean Party Nights and Funny Fish Comedy nights. Watch this space!
2020 was a very difficult year for our industry but we remain positive and continue to go from strength to strength when we have been allowed to open. Further, in the face of adversity, we are very pleased to have achieved Trip Advisor's Travellers' Choice and Certificate of Excellence Awards 2020 and are rated 9.4/10 "Superb" on Booking.com and 4.5/5 on Expedia.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back to The Flying Fish!

Located in the beautiful county of Somerset, 3 miles from the charming town of Ilminster and 9 miles from the County Town of Taunton, The Flying Fish enjoys an enviable, elevated position with stunning rural views across to The Blackdown Hills. On a country lane, surrounded by fields, peaceful and with virtually no light pollution yet just 4 mins from the A303, 2 mins from the A358 and 10 mins from the M5, The Flying Fish is popular with both business and leisure travellers alike.
There is so much to see and do in our neck of the woods with the best of 3 counties on our doorstep... historic houses, gardens, museums, walking trails, cycle routes, horse riding, golf, fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast and the iconic Glastonbury to name just a few! The vibrant cities of Exeter, Bath and Bristol are all within an hour. One thing's for sure... all roads lead back to The Flying Fish! It's the perfect place to stop and pause awhile. Linger longer at The Fish!
Family owned and operated by Husband and Wife, Buddy and Kate, since January 2018, whatever the reason for your visit, you will receive the personal touch from us and our team as we believe in treating our guests like family.
And if you’re wondering where the Flying Fish name came from... the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados is well known as the land of the flying fish, due to their abundance in the crystal clear aquamarine waters of the tropical sea and with one of the owners being a Barbadian, it was an easy choice to make.
The Flying Fish is family and dog-friendly and we look forward to seeing you soon!
