Located in the beautiful county of Somerset, 3 miles from the charming town of Ilminster and 9 miles from the County Town of Taunton, The Flying Fish enjoys an enviable, elevated position with stunning rural views across to The Blackdown Hills.
On a country lane, surrounded by fields, peaceful and with virtually no light pollution at night, yet just 4 mins from the A303, 2 mins from the A358 and 10 mins from the M5, The Flying Fish is popular with both business and leisure travellers alike.
There is so much to do in our neck of the woods... National Trust properties and gardens, museums, numerous public footpaths across glorious countryside, vibrant towns, fossil hunting on the Jurassic coast, fabulous beaches on the South and North coasts and so much more.
Whether visiting for lunch, dinner, a drink, stopping overnight, staying for a few days to explore the many attractions this area has to offer, or getting married here, The Flying Fish is the perfect place to stop and pause awhile. Linger longer at The Fish!
Family owned and operated by Husband and Wife, Buddy and Kate, since January 2018, whatever the reason for your visit, you will receive the personal touch from us and our team as we believe in treating our guests like family.
And if you’re wondering where the Flying Fish name came from... the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados is well known as the land of the flying fish, due to their abundance in the crystal clear aquamarine waters of the tropical sea and with one of the owners being a Barbadian, it was an easy choice to make.
The Flying Fish is family and dog-friendly and we look forward to seeing you soon!
